Biography

Pro Career:
Attended mini-camp with Tampa Bay after signing as a rookie free agent on 4/30/04. Signed with Detroit on 8/24/04 but was released on 8/31/04. Signed by Detroit to the 2005 reserve/future list on 1/7/05 and was allocated to NFL Europe by the Lions on 1/12/05. Assigned to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe on 2/17/05. Released by Detroit on 5/6/05 and signed to the Jaguars practice squad on 11/30/05 before being waived on 12/5/05. Signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League on 5/4/06 and played in five regular season games as well as the East Semifinal.  Released by Winnipeg during training camp the following year on 6/23/07. Signed with the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos on 6/25/07 and saw action in seven games before being released on 8/23/07. Finished the 2007 season with Winnipeg, recording two sacks in two games. Played in one game for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League before being released on 3/7/08. In September, 2008 signed with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL and started three of five games played at DE. The following season started all 18 regular season games, the West Final, and the Grey Cup, totaling a league-high 12 sacks and career-best 55 tackles. Signed a one-year contract with Arizona on 2/4/10.
2009 (Canadian Football League): Named West Division All-Star after setting career-highs in starts (18), sacks (league-high 12), tackles (55), forced fumbles (4), INTs (1) and fumble recoveries (2) … named Defensive Player of the Month for August … in the opening week of the season registered two tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery and was named the CFL’s Defensive Player of the Week … registered first career INT as well as a sack in week two … earned CFL Defensive Player of the Week honors in week eight by totaling 10 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble … in week 15 recorded seven tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and was named Defensive Player of the Week … registered two tackles and one sack in the Grey Cup.

College:
Three-time All-American and a three-time All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selection ... set a school record with 40 career sacks ... named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and SBN/Mel Blount Defensive Player of the Year, an award previously won by the likes of Michael Strahan, Harry Carson, Robert Porcher, Earl Holmes and Rasheen Mathis ... as a senior in 2003, led all Division I-AA players in tackles for loss with 40 ... played both LB and DE in college.

Full name Stevie Baggs Jr. … was an All-State 6A selection at Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs, FL) High School where he was named Seminole County Defensive Player of the Year as a senior … broke the state single-season sack record as a senior after recording 26.0 sacks on the season … was a multi-sport star at Lake Brantley, also lettering in basketball and track (shot-put) … in April 2009, hosted the First Annual Professional Football Camp and Life Skills Clinic, providing close to 100 youth ages (8-21) the opportunity to learn first-hand athletic knowledge and life lessons of empowerment from current and former NFL and CFL players … earned a degree in International Business
